This is a favorite soup for those watching their sodium and fat intake. We use a blend of maccaroni, brown rice, split peas, lentils, barley and onion to provide a hunger satisfying richness with or without meat.

Vegetable Soup Mix

  • Ingredients Recommended:


    1 pkg. Vegetable Soup Mix
    8 c. water
    1 lb. hamburger, browned and drained
    3 c. diced vegetables
    (carrots, potatoes, celery, etc.)
    15 oz. tomato sauce
    2 tsp. salt



    1. Boil water, contents of soup mix, and salt in a large kettle.
    2. Cover and simmer of 60 minutes..
    3. Add tomato sauce, vegetables, and hamburger.
    4. Simmer for 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
    5. Serve with sour cream.


    Mix Ingredients: Macaroni, brown rice, split peas, lentils, barley, dried onions. No MSG or autolyzed yeast extract.



    Substitute hamburger with Italian sausage, and tomato sauce with spicy Italian tomato sauce.
